Representing at the AMA Mid-Ohio
Team ChallengeIn addition to the AMA/WERA races at Mid-Ohio in a few weeks (see the countdown on the left for the exact number of days left), part of the events include a Team Challenge. Each organization in attendance (WERA, CCS, CMRA, CRA, etc.) selects a team to represent their organization. I was fortunate enough to be selected to represent WERA, along with Charlie Coleman and Dave (Grey) ...

Monday Morning Grind
Grattan went pretty well. It was a good weekend, although I didn't drop as much time as I needed to. We changed a lot of things on the bike and it seemed to help, although it will be easier to tell when running Grattan in the normal clockwise direction, where I have a lot more laps and can give better feedback on the bike.Friday and ...

Lovely Weather Continues
The weather forecast for Grattan this weekend continues to improve, with significant chances of rain throughout the entire weekend. This could make for another exciting three days of numerous tire changes in the often changing conditions - just like last weekend at Nelson Ledges. Let the fun begin ..

Monday Morning Grind
Not too much to recap from this past weekend at Nelson. Wet weather Friday and Saturday with a 3rd place finish in the Middleweight solo race. Sunday was dry, but I was having some issues getting to the times I had done the previous race weekend where I was closer to the front of the pack, so a minor set back in that regard. We're off ...

Brighton Superbike Goes 2 For 2
in 3-Hour EnduranceDarren, Joe and myself met up Friday afternoon and started our trip to the Ohio area in preparation for our second crack at Fasttrax's 3-hour endurance race. We didn't have Jim as our third rider, and we didn't have Pirelli as our tire supplier of choice. To make a ...

Off to the Races
While not on the WERA schedule, Darren (Womack) and I decided to again do the 3-hour Fasttrax endurance race this upcoming weekend. We don't have Jim as the third rider like we did last time, so that will alter our rider/pit strategy slightly (more riding for us, which could be a good or bad thing).Fasttrax doesn't have the array of tire vendors that WERA does, so I ...

Monday Morning Grind
Wow, what an X Games over the weekend. I haven't been a huge X fan in the past, but once I happened to catch Pastrana's double backflip early in the weekend, I was glued to the television, especially on Sunday. I thought all the events were great - the BMX and skateboarding stuff was cool. The newly added rally car racing (with the likes of ...

Switching Gears
Of course there's the play on words, but it's funny how I switch gears from week to week when thinking about a particular race track. Last month after the Nelson race, all I was thinking about was Nelson Ledges. With a couple Grattan trackdays soon thereafter, I switched my thinking over to Grattan and what I needed to do to go faster. After then leaving Grattan, having gone ...
