Representing at the AMA Mid-Ohio
Team ChallengeIn addition to the AMA/WERA races at Mid-Ohio in a few weeks (see the countdown on the left for the exact number of days left), part of the events include a Team Challenge. Each organization in attendance (WERA, CCS, CMRA, CRA, etc.) selects a team to represent their organization. I was fortunate enough to be selected to represent WERA, along with Charlie Coleman and Dave (Grey) in our region. I don't know Charlie that well, but Dave, Garry and the rest of their team are top notch and great to hang out with.
Each rider's top finish goes towards the "team total". Essentially at the end of the weekend, the team with the most points wins. There are some further details, but that's basically what it's about. The AMA provides some nice perks to each team such as special parking passes, team press releases and some other things I don't know about yet. WERA also helps cover some of the travel expenses involved which is very cool.
The Team Challenge has become bigger within the past couple years. I was on the WERA Regional team in 2004 and was able to contribute a win to the team, but it wasn't as big of a deal back then. This year it seems that both the AMA and WERA have put a greater emphasis on the team concept that the Team Challenge entails. Overall it's another cool part of the Mid-Ohio weekend.

Congrats on being selected!! Mid-Ohio should be a great trip.
Thanks Eric. You should come watch!
I’m checking into camping at the track. It would be a very fun weekend trip. I’ll let you know if this comes together.
Awesome. The facility alone is great – plus there’s going to be a ton of racing going on – much bigger than the last Grattan trip.
After looking at the dates I realized my sister got me the 5/3rd suite at the Palace for Tool on the 22nd. I’m still considering the trip. I know the kids would want to go. I’ll make ya a deal if I go you MUST get on the podium!!!!
You said that last time and didn’t show up. And I did get a podium that weekend. :)
Well then I guess the pressure is on me to make a showing. Working on getting a pop-up for the weekend.
OK I have a camper, the kids are looking to seeing you on the podium. See ya at the track.
Awesome Eric. Looking forward to seeing you guys at the track!
