Playing the Waiting Game ..

These are the moments that are frustrating. You're so excited to get everything going for the season, yet there are a few loose ends being delayed – and they're simply out of your control where you can't do anything about them.

Examples - leathers, helmets and bike. Three things that have all been delayed, and while it's not of dire importance to have them all right this instant, it would be a load off my shoulders if everything was 100% ready to go.

The leathers are being altered in Japan and won't be ready for the upcoming trackdays at Putnam Park. I'm disappointed, but Kushitani is doing everything they can to get them here as soon as possible. They're covering the cost of the alterations themselves because of the delay, which is definitely a nice gesture. Fortunately I've still got my old leathers, which I'll use in Indiana.

The helmets are coming by boat from Italy, and the shipment's been delayed for an additional 3 weeks. This isn't a big deal, as they'll be here by the time the season starts, but the new helmets are so cool that I want them now; even if it's just to wear them in the living room.

Lastly, the bike. We'll be picking it up this weekend after extensive delays; all of which were out of James' control. The latest rumor is a Friday night/Saturday morning pick up, where we can then put the bodywork and stickers on, and take some pictures for the sponsors. Then we'll be putting the bike on display at Kart 2 Kart, where we'll be hosting a fundraising event before the season kicks off (more details to follow). The bike's going to look sharp; and I can't wait.

So here's hoping to a productive weekend, where we get at least the bike back and ready to go ..
