Father and Crew Chief

Via email this morning after a challenging week at Mid-Ohio.  I forwarded my dad an email from a buddy of ours, Chris Broome who had some good insight to share.  My last part was:

"Thanks again for all your help dad.  I would have certainly liked to have ridden better.  I likely ended up getting in my own way when it came down to it."

Dad:

"I wish I could verbalize as well as that because I feel the same way, it's just not my nature.  This week you needed a crew chief/motivator more than a suspension tech and I'm not very good at that. :(  You're my hero for being out there and trying, not to mention your family life with Gina and Connor.  When I saw you yesterday in the garage bending your wrists I thought holy shot, how does he even ride?  You have high expectations for yourself and those around you which is good, but sometimes you just need to take a breath, relax and accept that today you're only going this far.

I'm very proud of you,

Love Paw

And don't thank me for the help, I appreciate you taking me along for the ride."

He was right about today this time.  Fortunately, there will be a tomorrow.
