Pirelli Adds to Existing Tire Contingency

In a press release from Pirelli:

Pirelli has hugely increased its 2006 WERA contingency payouts for Expert and Novice classes. In total, the increase in Pirelli’s contingency commitment in WERA is 57% in the National series, and more than doubled in the WERA Regional series. The biggest hikes to Pirelli’s payout are in Regional Expert classes with a win, second and third now paying $250, $175, and $125. Pirelli pays to fifth place in all classes it supports, increased now by two National and eight Regional classes.

Please check with WERA for a listing of each class payout. Pirelli’s contingency program for WERA is at an unprecedented $935,490. Pirelli also has a free tire program with selected purchases at the racetrack (see the vendor at the track for details). These new contingency postings for the 2006 season take effect July 14th and are not retroactive. The free-tire promotion runs to the end of August, 2006.

Pirelli already offers great tires and and an awesome trackside support service (Moose, Theresa, Jim, John and the rest of the Trackside Racers Supply crew), not to mention great contingency to start with.  This is big bonus for any racer who runs Pirelli tires – helping to make the already expensive sport of racing more affordable.
