A Pit Bull Experience

For those not familiar with Charlie and his company Pit Bull, they make high-end race stands for bikes, in addition to steering dampers and other race accessories.  For those who know of Charlie and the customer support Pit Bull provides, this story shouldn't be much of a surprise.

This past weekend we had some minor issues with the steering damper as it wasn't working properly.  I called up Charlie on Monday and told him of the issue.  He said to send it back to him and he'd replace the fluids, seals and everything else internally – all free of charge.  Pretty impressive.  He continued that he'd get it out the same day he received it, as he clearly didn't like that we had to deal with any issues with the damper at the track.  Again, pretty impressive.

On top of that, when I sent the damper to him yesterday, I said that I would pay additional shipping costs to get the damper back by the weekend, as I wanted to go to the track with it.  His reply was asking what color the one I sent him was, as he would just send a new one that day to make sure I had something in time to use at the track.  How friggin' impressive is that?

Often with companies you find top-notch products or excellent customer service – not both.  If you don't use Pit Bull products for how good they are, you should use them for how great their customer support is.
