Knee Down

Drag a Knee - or Two

After a weekend off and a bit too much cool weather for August, BeaveRun and warmer temperatures are on the schedule this weekend, as we head to our eighth round of the season in Wampum, Pennsylvania.

Our last visit to BeaveRun went extremely well.  This time will be even more of a challenge however.  With both Kawasaki and Yamaha money on the line, there will surely be a number of guys coming out just for that reason.  Needless to say we'll have our hands full.  The good news is that I really do like this track and know it fairly well.  There is more time to be found and hopefully we can do that this weekend.  BeaveRun is a short track, so where you often are looking for say, a half second at most tracks, a couple tenths here is about equal to that when comparing to other, longer tracks.  Certain parts of BeaveRun are fast and flat out, so once you have those figured, finding time elsewhere becomes a bit of a challenge.

If all goes well, we will have a new Pirelli rear tire to try out this weekend.  It's supposed to be even better than the one we've been using all season up until this point, so I'm looking forward to trying it.  Since Grattan, switched gearing, new knee pucks, new grips and new rubber should hopefully get us started on the right foot.

Cheers,
