On the Mend ..
Well I'm officially on the mend. After surgery Friday night, I've been laying low at home icing and loading up on pain medication. I have a couple pictures of the lovely damage off to the right in the Flickr image section.
Basically I broke my collarbone in six places. The surgery was performed by Dr. Lemos (team doctor for the Detroit Tigers) and took about two and a half hours. Needless to say I was pretty out of it after the surgery. I'm still a bit out of it as the pain medication doesn't make me want to do much.
I have a follow up appointment with Dr. Lemos later this week, but it looks like I'll be out for at least a couple months. In the meantime, I'll most likely be looking for someone to ride our bike during the upcoming WERA Grattan round and possibly Gingerman round as well.

Dood, How Is “G” holding up? I’m sure she is alot tougher now that she is with you…. seeing you come home all bruised/broken/stitched up and all. :-)
She is a brave woman.
We can compare stitches and scars some time. Chicks dig scars too.
Hey Doug – Gina’s been great. She’s basically been taking care of me. Getting shirts on and off, which is hard to do with one arm, along with a host of other things. She’s really been awesome. She’s a brave woman and I’m a lucky guy ..
After looking at your post operative x-ray pix…. my weird self said to my weirder self… “it would be cool to have a miniture sterling silver copy of the Ti plate in Eddie’s shoulder as a charm bracelet charm for G” Weird? Just sayin’.
Yeah that’d be cool .. real cool .. if I ever get the plate removed, I’ll make you something nice for a Christmas gift. :)
LOL Now that thar is funny…. Christmas gift indeed. :)
